Installation
How it Works
There are two choices with the installation of AAPT ADSL Broadband - Self Installation & Professional Installation.
To have the costs of Professional Installation factored in to you WhistleOut results, go to the 'Extra Features' section of the results page.
Installation of Modems
After purchasing your modem, you are free to self install it. You will receive one in-line filter with the self installation kit. You will need a filter for each active phone port in your house.
BYO Modem
You are able to BYO Modem, but it must be a AAPT approved modem.
Shaping - No excess download fees
The speed of this plan is shaped / throttled to 64Kbps when you exceed your download limit for the month.
Connecting to the Internet in Your House
Unless you are using a wireless modem or wired router with additional cabling to your computer, it is most likely that you will need to have your computer positioned near the phone socket in your house. To have any pricing for a wireless modem factored into your WhistleOut results, select 'wireless' as your modem type on the WhistleOut results page.
Two or More Computers in the House
If you are using two or more computers in the house, your download allowance will be shared amongst all the computers in the house. There is not a download allowance allocated to each computer. You will also need either a wireless modem / router to network the computers to the internet or a wired 4 port modem / router. You can add this a selection in your WhistleOut results.
