"...we’re expecting great things of the HTC One X. We’re somewhat anxious of issues with battery life, once again looking back at past HTC offerings. On more than one occasion we’ve encountered difficulty holding a charge for a full day when employing anything more than casual use with high-end HTC smartphones. "

"HTC has made great strides with its camera software over the years, but with the One X it's really outdone itself, allowing users to create so many more varied styles of photos and using the raw power of the quad core processor to good effect." 4.5/5 Stars

"There's absolutely no doubt that the One X is a masterpiece of an Android device: it obliterates pretty much all of its competitors by giving even the mighty Galaxy Nexus a run for its money. HTC's really crafted something special here, with a brilliant combination of branding, industrial design and user experience. "

"The HTC One X launches with Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system, making it among the first new devices to do so. It might seem a small point, but in a world where the slightest delay in updating draws criticism from customers, it gets HTC off to the right start." 4.5/5 Stars

"The HTC One X has an excellent web browser that really makes surfing the Internet a great experience on the go. The thing can handle HTML5 with ease, it even has Adobe Flash support and what I really appreciate is that it intelligently zooms the text for your screen. This is something that should be standard on smartphones now but I still see way too many phones that can't properly optimize the page for your screen size. The One X does and it does it well." 9/10

Positive

"The HTC X has an impressively large screen, measuring in at 4.7-inch, putting it head-to-head with the likes of the HTC Titan and the LG Optimus 3D, in terms of screen size. Even under the harsh lights of the demo room, the screen held its own, appearing bright and clear, with an impressive viewing angle, we it looks set to be a good performer in bright sunshine."

"The One X's display is, without a hint of hyperbole, the best I've ever seen on a phone. Full stop. Seriously, I'm struggling to find fault with it in any way: it's got a near-perfect 180 degree viewing angle and perhaps the most accurate color reproduction and color temperature available. Positive

"The One X is a large phone, and making voice calls can be a little unwieldy; still, the end result is clear audio, thanks to the dual microphones and noise reduction system. The Beats Audio tuning is available to all media apps, not just HTC’s own as in 2011 Beats-branded phones, and does its usual job of boosting bass frequencies."

80/100

"HTC claims the One X's quad-core chip means "web browsing and games run more smoothly and are quicker to respond". In my experience, web pages certainly load quickly and scrolling is undoubtedly very nippy, but for general web browsing there isn't a huge performance bump over and above a 2010 device such as the HTC Desire, which has a single-core 1GHz chip. 78/100

"As a device for making phone calls, the One X performs decently. Voices were easy to comprehend on both ends of the line, while loudness was just enough to hear the other person well. However, you might run into some trouble hearing them if you happen to be in a noisier situation. If we have to rate the calling experience, we'd give incoming quality and loudness 8 and 7 out of 10, respectively, and outgoing quality and loudness 8.5 and 7.5 out of 10, respectively." 7.8/10 Stars
