HTC Radar 4G Reviews

Positive

"HTC pulled off the unibody construction of the Radar quite admirably. At 5.6 ounces (160g), it's a bit heavier than many devices of its size, but that's not to suggest its heft is unwelcome. To the contrary, it has a dense quality to that's hardly a burden. We perceived it as being quite solid and a thoroughly welcome departure from phones that feel cheap and flimsy. "

"After using the Nokia Lumia 710 and HTC Radar 4G off and on over the last week or two I have decided that the HTC Radar 4G is the Windows Phone for me and am sticking with it until something better comes along."

"If you happen to be a chatterbox, you'll find the 9.8 hours of talk time we're able to get more than sufficient – though, it's shy of the 10 hours of talk rated by the manufacturer. Otherwise, its real-world battery performance is average, as we're able to get a solid one day of normal usage. " 7.5/10 Stars

"The Radar's 5-megapixel camera snapped pretty good pictures. The camera has a f/2.2 lens and a backside-illuminated sensor, which is useful for shots in low-light conditions." 3.5/5 Stars

"The 3.8-inch display on the Radar 4G was impressively bright, making it easy to read e-mail and review photos in direct sunlight. The Super AMOLED screen on the Samsung Focus Flash offers better contrast and superior viewing angles--making the Radar 4G's display look somewhat washed out by comparison--but this panel holds its own. We could easily make out the details of darker scenes in The Avengers trailer on YouTube." 3.5/5 Stars

"Voice quality is just OK; callers had no trouble understanding me, but the earpiece has a tinny quality to it that isn't particularly pleasant. There's no Wi-Fi calling, either; normally that's not an issue, but T-Mobile's coverage is weak in my part of Massachusetts; without it, I couldn't complete some test calls, while others dropped the moment I stepped back inside the house." 3.5/5

"The combination of a beautiful design, Windows Phone, and an affordable price tag makes the HTC Radar 4G a great smartphone for first-time buyers and those who don't need all the bells and whistles." 3.5/5 Stars
