"...the Viper feels solid and fits in pretty much any hand, although it isn't super-slim. It's mostly plastic, but tightly built and classy feeling, with a slate-gray back. The 800-by-480 LCD is bright, and in this 4-inch form factor it packs a nice, dense 233 pixels per inch, which isn't up to "Retina display" standards, but looks good nonetheless. " 4/5

"Not only is the new LG Viper 4G LTE a powerful dual-core phone, but it’s extremely affordable, and a great mid-range phone with tons of high points like the upcoming LTE and NFC options. "

"For a handset positioned toward the middle of the spectrum, the Viper possesses some features more in line with what you'd expect to find in premium phones -- namely, the option to record video in full 1080p HD. We tested out the device's recording capabilities and, as it performed with stills, so too with video. "

"Extremely audible to the ear thanks to the strong output through its earpiece, the only gripe we have with calling quality is the crackle it produces. Luckily, our callers have it easier as they’re presented with neutral voices on their end. Switching to the speakerphone, its volume is average, however, it’s marred by the same crackly voices. "Nothing special here: The Viper 4G LTE has the standard Android keyboard as well as Swype, but we liked the gentle haptic feedback when using the former option." 3.5/5 Stars

"Although many of its features still won't be available by the time it hits stores, the LG Viper is a reliable, environmentally conscious device with an excellent camera." 3.5/5 Stars

"Earth-friendly phones aren’t generally the most stylish-looking models, but the Viper is an exception. The piano-black face is nicely complemented by a chrome border around the phone’s edges. The silver plastic backing has a “brushed” finish, giving it a sophisticated look. It feels a little chunkier than the other smartphones we’ve recently reviewed, measuring 4.59-by-2.44-by-0.46 inches thick, but it weighs a manageable 5 ounces." 3.5/5 Stars

"The phone is a silver plastic chunky monkey. LG can make an attractive phone, but this isn't one of them. It looks somewhat dated thanks to the silver plastics and thickness. The phone has a 1700 mAh battery and we managed a not very impressive 4.3 hours of talk time on 1x/3G (LTE is turned off by default and we left it that way for our battery tests). "
