"With double the battery life of the Razr and a much improved camera, the Maxx is one of the best smartphones on the market. It has a dual-core processor, 4G LTE connection, Super AMOLED screen, great battery life, and it’s still one of the thinnest phones on the market. " 9.3/10

"More importantly, like the Razr this is an extremely well-built phone—rock solid, with a water-resistant back, a steel core, and a Gorilla Glass display. The back panel has a black and gray pattern and feels slightly grippy; the front resists even greasy fingerprints." 4.5/5

"As far as the display goes, of course it’s beautiful. There’s very little differentiation between pixels and the size really lends itself to TV/movie viewing. Screens vary from phone to phone (even if they’re technically the “same screen”), and I did notice that the Razr Maxx has a more of a yellowy tint to it, whereas the Razr has more of a bluish tint. These are just my units, though, and if they weren’t side by side I might not have noticed at all. "

"The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx proves that a powerful Android superphone can remain thin yet still promise marathon-worthy battery life. If you can live without Ice Cream Sandwich and have big hands, the Maxx is extremely compelling." 4.5/5 Stars

"For standard internet browsing and just using a web browser, the Maxx is the fastest non-Android 4.0 device available. It even beats out the iPhone 4S in both of the browser-based benchmarks, albeit by a very slight margin. However, based on the speeds we’ve seen with ICS upgrades, the Maxx will be much faster than the 4S and the Galaxy Nexus when it finally upgrades. " 4.5/5 Stars

"If you want a smartphone that’s uncompromising about battery life and also includes 4G LTE connectivity, the Droid RAZR MAXX is a no brainer, especially over the Droid RAZR sans MAXX. There’s just no other device out there right now that lasts as long and isn't a feature phone or crippled in some way, and in a world where everything is being fabbed on a 4x nm process, battery life at the high end is entirely a function of battery capacity."

"It's a RAZR with a giant battery. Actually, the battery isn't huge (it adds about a half-ounce to the MAXX, compared with its lighter sibling), but it makes a big difference in your ability to actually use this phone — some testers boast they're able to get over 13 hours of talk time between charges. "The keyboard does grow on you, as your fingers adapt to the tight layout, which is improved if you turn the Motorola Razr Maxx landscape – although you do sacrifice the ability to see the message you're replying to in this mode." 4/5 Stars

"One of the features we really liked on the Droid Razr and some of Motorola's other recent phones is Smart Actions. Thankfully, Motorola has also included this app on the Droid Razr Maxx. As you may recall, Smart Actions will automatically adjust device settings to your liking based on your location, the time of day, battery level, and or another trigger of your choosing. " 4/5 Stars

"Two words: holy smokes. We took the phone off the charger at 8:30 AM, began our standard video rundown test that consists of an endless video loop while connected to 3G, walked away and waited. And waited. And continued waiting until 1 AM the following morning. That's right -- the Maxx lasted 16.5 hours playing the same video over and over before giving up the ghost. "

"Call quality was very good over Verizon’s network in San Francisco. I got coverage almost everywhere I went and never experienced any dropped calls. My friends and family sounded loud and clear, with no static or distortion." 4/5 Stars
