LG Nitro HD Available on AT&T

The LG Nitro HD has made its debut on AT&T’s network for $249.99 on a 2 year contract. This new phone from LG, which is the US version of the Optimus LTE, sports a 4.5 inch HD display. That’s a True-HD AH-IPS display for all those tech geeks, or a 1280×720 pixel resolution for anyone else. Remember that 50 inch plasma you bought back in 2006? Well you can now get phones with the same resolution and one of them is the LG Nitro HD.

All of these pixels are crammed on to a large (yet still impressively small when you think about it) 4.5 inch display, putting the LG Nitro HD at the larger end of the screen spectrum. A single-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor should make short work of just about anything you could throw at it and the 8MP camera should provide adequate, if pretty standard photos.

On-board memory is just 4GB, but a 16GB MicroSD card is supplied with the device. Media  junkies should definitely take note of this, as if you think you’ll be needing more storage it’s definitely wise to upgrade as you purchase, rather than a while down the track.

The Nitro HD hasn’t really created that many ripples on the web yet, but we hope to see a bit more of it in the coming weeks. With these kind of specs it should provide a solid top-end user experience, but we won’t know for sure until more AT&T customers start voicing their opinions on their shiny new devices.
