MVNO Red Pocket was launched in 2006 and offers no-contract wireless service nationwide. Red Pocket has service plans running on both GSM and CDMA nationwide networks.

Red Pocket Mobile's rate plans range from pay-per-minute to monthly plans, and from mobile data-only service to unlimited talk and text plans. Running on three different networks, they offer three different types of plans: GSMA, 4G Mobile Internet and CDMA. Most plans are for 30 days but you can also buy PayGo refills and top-up your account whenever you need it.

  • GSM plans: they all offer unlimited talk, text and global MMS, plus mobile web, and up to 200 minutes free international long distance. You can sign up for auto-refill program for unlimited plans with a billing period of 30 days.
  • 4G mobile internet: they provide nationwide mobile internet at 4G speeds with tethering which is included for free.
  • CDMA plans: they all offer unlimited talk, text and global MMS, plus mobile web, and up to 200 minutes free international long distance. You can sign up for auto-refill program for unlimited plans with a billing period of 30 days.

In terms of device options, Red Pocket does not directly sell new devices to customers but gives you the option to buy a new or used phone from one of their partners. Red Pocket redirects you to those external merchant sites of cell phones. You can also bring your own device as long as it is an unlocked GSM phone with the 850mhz/1900mhz frequencies standard in the USA with the purchase of Red Pocket Mobile SIM Card. You can also bring your Sprint and Verizon devices for CDMA plans, and T-Mobile and AT&T devices for GSM plans.

  • Network: Red Pocket uses the same networks as the major US carriers. Their GSMA uses the AT&T network and GSMT use the T-Mobile network. Their CDMA uses the Verizon network and CDMAS use the Sprint network. However, all  services and plans are exclusively provided by Red Pocket Mobile.

  • Where to Buy: Red Pocket operates entirely online so all you need to do is navigate to their website to purchase your sim card and sign up. You may also visit local/dealer stores like Wal-Mart, CVS, Family Dollar and Target.
  • Bring Your Own Phone to Red Pocket: Customers who have an unlocked AT&T or T-Mobile device can easily bring their phone to Red Pocket. For those who have a Sprint or another phone compatible with a large network will need to enter in the device's ESN / MEID / IMEI and the SIM number.
  • Tethering: As of right now, hotspot and tethering will only work on GSMT (T-Mobile) network
