Frontier's FAQ's

Founded in 1935, Frontier Communications Corporation started out in Minneapolis under the name Citizens Utilities Company. After many years of service expansion and a rapid acquisition of lines across the nation, they became Citizens Communications Company in 2000. Finally, as the brand grew further and began to win multi-billion dollar bids for further expansion, they changed their name yet again in May of 2008 to Frontier Communications Corporation. The once a rural telecommunications company now provides service in the realms of TV, internet, and phone.
Frontier provides service in 25 states across the U.S.
Frontier Fiber speeds can range as fast as 5,000 Mpbs. Speeds may vary by location and the top speeds might not be available in certain areas.

Yes. Customers can sign up for internet and phone, internet and TV, or all three. Best of all, Frontier offers great deals on bundles all year long.
It's your choice. Frontier offers 24-month contracts and no contract options, but if you don't sign a contract, expect to pay a higher upfront fee.

Frontier Customer Service Ranking & Reputation

Frontier is known for offering affordable DSL internet, even in rural areas. However, the issue with DSL in rural regions is that speeds begin to drop as you get further away from the source. For this reason, Frontier has had some unhappy customers who are getting slower-than-promised speeds.

You should test your speeds before singing your Frontier contract and also take note the speeds listed are your "max" speeds—you may experience slower speeds quite regularly. It would be wise to start with a faster Frontier plan in the first place to ensure that you'll get the speeds you need.

Why Choose Frontier?

Even though getting cheap internet service is enticing, you're far more likely to love your plan if you pay a little more for a faster plan. That way, if you're paying for a 25Mbps plan and get 10Mbps on some days when lines are congested, you'll still be able to connect with ease on those days.

Overall, no matter which plan you choose, you'll still get a great deal.

Frontier's plans shine the most when you choose to bundle your plans. Not only will you get free installation, but they're likely to throw in a free modem rental and sometimes even more!
