Optimum Fiber Internet Packages
Optimum plans for high speed fiber internet offer speeds ranging from 300 Mbps to up to 1 Gbps in most areas. Speeds up to 8 Gbps are available in select locations.
Cable or Fiber Connection
Optimum internet is provided using either a standard cable connection or a fiber connection. Cable internet is provided using a cable modem service, which allows for high speed broadband using the same coaxial cables that you would use for your TV. Fiber internet is provided using fiber-optic cables that transmit data as light pulses which allows for super fast internet service. Fiber typically transmits data at speeds that exceed current DSL or cable modem speeds.
The speeds you experience will vary depending on the modem configuration, internet and server traffic, conditions in external environments, condition of the inside wiring and equipment, network management, and many other factors.
Installation
Optimum offers professional installment of their internet directly to your home for a one time fee. Self installation is available in select locations.
Modems / Bring Your Own Modem
Optimum includes their equipment with their plans for no additional cost. Customers can use a modem from Optimum or bring a compatible modem.
