Tello is a prepaid carrier that runs off of Sprint's 4G LTE network. Tello offers "pay as you go" and "create your own" plans allowing customers to choose the exact amount of talk, text, and data they need each month. Tello also offers its own branded devices and an option to "bring your own phone".
Tello offers prepaid plans that don’t bind users in a contract or charge them early termination fees. Tello, as of April 2016 has numerous postpaid and prepaid service plans. With each plan there are no hidden fees and customers can leave the service whenever they’d like. Since Tello’s plans are build your own, Tello will charge members separately for talk, text and data.
To bring your own device to Tello, it must be unlocked and have previously ran off the Sprint network. Some iPhone and Google Nexus phone models are compatible with Tello regardless of which carrier they were purchased from. These are the only phones other than Sprint devices that can be activated with Tello. The following phones from the following carriers are accepted:
-AT&T and T-Mobile iPhones 6, 6+, 6s, 6s+, SE
-Verizon iPhones 5s, 5c, 6, 6+, 6s, 6s+, SE
-AT&T and Verizon Nexus 5, 5x, 6, 6p
-T-Mobile Nexus 5x, 6 and 6p
New smartphone models have been designed to support both GSM or CDMA.
Tello also offers users the option to purchase devices from companies such as Apple, Samsung, and HTC. Tello does not allow customers to pay for their phones over monthly installments meaning if a customer intends to purchase a phone through Tello, they will have to pay in full.
Tello has a couple of different add-on features that can be added to any plan. Included data allowance can be used for tethering (mobile hotspot) as long as the users’ device supports mobile hotspot configuration. Customers also have the option to purchase additional Pay as You Go credits for international calls and texts. This includes calls and texts to Mexico, Canada as well as Cuba.

WhistleOut maintains a broad list of service providers and we endeavour to include at least the top ten service providers in every category so that you can make a transparent choice. When you see a 'promoted product' or a product with a 'go to site' button it means that WhistleOut is earning a transaction click fee for the referral. We audit the prices in our database regularly and we don't alter the ranking of products in our organic search based on any commercial relationship. Find out more here
