AT&T in one of the big four cell phone carriers in the United States with a massive customer base and huge network footprint across the US.
Fact: With over 147 million customers in the US and Mexico, AT&T is one of the largest wireless providers in the world. AT&T also owns Cricket Wireless. Take a look at AT&T's current wireless deals, AT&Ts phone line-up, or our review of AT&T
AT&T can, albeit indirectly, trace its history to the Bell Telephone Company founded by Alexander Graham Bell; its current incarnation was founded in 1983, although its network of subsidiaries monopolized the US telecommunications industry for most of the 20th century (known as the Bell system). The AT&T of today is a publicly traded company providing landline, long-distance, mobile phone, cable television and broadband services.
AT&T’s network isn’t technically all ‘4G’ – it’s actually a dual layer of LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul. AT&T states that their enhanced network is capable of delivering 4G speeds, and that combining these two technologies will provide customers with a smoother and more consistent mobile internet experience.
Aside from 4G, the company is also the nation’s largest Wifi provider, with a network of 30,000 AT&T hotspots nationally and providing access to over 220,000 hotspots globally for its customers through roaming agreements.

WhistleOut maintains a broad list of service providers and we endeavour to include at least the top ten service providers in every category so that you can make a transparent choice. When you see a 'promoted product' or a product with a 'go to site' button it means that WhistleOut is earning a transaction click fee for the referral. We audit the prices in our database regularly and we don't alter the ranking of products in our organic search based on any commercial relationship. Find out more here
