Not every unlimited data plan includes unlimited premium data. In fact, most unlimited plans only give you a certain amount of premium data per month, then drop you to slower speeds once you hit that limit (which still counts as unlimited data, technically).
But there's nothing worse than burning through your premium (or high-speed) data in the first week of the month and being left with extremely slow data speeds for the remainder. Your phone becomes unusable for anything but calls and texts, and adding on extra premium data is usually pricey.
That said, some great cell phone plans include truly unlimited premium data, and not all of them cost a fortune. Here are the plans I myself would choose (and have) for the fastest guaranteed speeds with premium data that last all month long.

1. US Mobile Unlimited Premium: The best (premium data) bang for your buck
Real-world speeds: 488Mbps on Dark Star (AT&T's network)
US Mobile's Unlimited Premium plan includes unlimited premium data for just $44/month. You have to select service on the Dark Star network if you want the maximum premium data, which uses AT&T's coverage, but it's unbeatable.
You get truly (and I mean absolutely unhindered) premium data. No one will slow you down for the entire month, and you'll get speeds that are probably faster than your home internet. We clocked 488Mbps, when good internet speeds are usually between 100–300Mbps.
Plus, this plan costs less than my monthly coffee allowance. If you aren't convinced about whether or not AT&T network coverage is for you, check out coverage in your area or believe me when I say AT&T is the best network I've used.
This plan has a mind-blowing amount of premium data for the cheap price.
I tend to change carriers every few years, and every time I've had a plan on the AT&T network, it's never let me down. It's true that I live in Southern California where AT&T is the strongest carrier, but I can easily see myself making video calls from the car and scrolling on the beach with US Mobile's plan.
But you also get other cool perks like international data and 100GB of hotspot data—which is almost impossible to burn through in a single month. Trust me, I've tried burning through it by constantly streaming and video calling, and I've never gone over 32GB in a month.
If you want the most premium data for the least money, this is the plan to get.
2. Visible+ Pro: The fastest speeds I've ever seen
Real-world speeds: Over 800Mbps on Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband
If premium data plus the fastest speeds you can possibly get on a cell network, Visible's Visible+ Pro plan is the answer. For $45/month, you get unlimited premium data plus access to Verizon's Ultra Wideband network, which, if you don't know, is basically pockets of Verizon's fastest 5G spectrum bands for lightning-fast data speeds. Ultra Wideband is so fast that it hits real-world speeds of up to 800Mbps—about four times the speed you probably get on your phone right now. For reference, a normal fast speed is around 100–200Mbps.
With speeds of 800Mbps, you're basically flying in cellular terms.
Unfortunately, Ultra Wideband coverage is very limited. You're most likely to find it near a big city or in a heavily populated metro area. Everywhere else, you still get Verizon's 5G network and unlimited premium data. You also get Verizon's 4G coverage too, which may not be the fastest, but it was the only coverage I could get in Yosemite National Park.
If you want unmatched speed for a low price, Visible+ Pro is the one to get.
3. Verizon Unlimited Ultimate: Pretty much unlimited everything
Real-world speeds: 800+Mbps on Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband
If you need a massive amount of premium data (and I mean enough premium data to power a small business), you'll have to go with one of the big three. Verizon's Unlimited Ultimate has the maximum of everything, compared to every other plan on the market. Not only does it have unlimited premium data, but it has the most data perks I've ever seen.
You are the priority at Verizon with Unlimited Ultimate, no matter what.
You get truly unlimited data with Unlimited Ultimate. When the network is busy with lots of traffic, you're first in line for your premium data. Plus, you can get the fastest speeds I've ever seen with Verizon's Ultra Wideband 5G network. But it doesn't stop there; you also get the maximum of everything else, like 200GB of premium hotspot data and travel perks like unlimited international data. For $95/month, you're paying for serious data privileges.
If you're a heavy data user who wants to be first in line no matter how busy the network gets, this is the plan to get.
4. AT&T Unlimited Premium 2.0: A happy medium of coverage and premium data
Real-world speeds: 236Mbps on 5G
AT&T's Unlimited Premium 2.0 plan gives you truly unlimited premium data and a well-balanced network to use it on. With premium data, your speeds won't be hindered, and with AT&T you won't lose coverage frequently thanks to its extensive map.
You get the ideal network balance of 5G and 4G, so even if you go off-grid where 5G isn't available, you'll still have a solid 4G connection. And as soon as you're back on 5G, you're back to super-fast speeds.
AT&T has never failed me in the past.
AT&T honestly offers the highest average speeds, sitting around 300Mbps. While that's not as shockingly fast as Verizon's Ultra Wideband, it's still a major competitor with wide coverage. Plus, that's fast enough for smooth and seamless streaming and mobile gaming. This plan also includes 4K streaming for free.
You can't go wrong with AT&T's unlimited premium data plans.
5. T-Mobile Experience More 2.0: Unlimited premium data on the largest 5G network
Real-world speeds: Varied, between 58–411Mbps depending on where you live
T-Mobile's Experience More plan gives you unlimited premium data and free Netflix, so you can stream anywhere. It costs $90/month ($85/month with AutoPay), and your data never slows down after you hit a limit.
Unlimited premium data and free Netflix mean you can stream anywhere.
And if you're like me, that Netflix subscription can become a lifesaver, especially when I need to play Old MacDonald on repeat in the car so that my nephew doesn't scream his lungs out. With unlimited premium data, I never have to worry about running out.
The Netflix Standard with Ads subscription is included at no extra cost, so you don't need a separate bill. T-Mobile also has the most extensive 5G network across the nation, so your 5G connection goes with you on the road (in my case, literally).
If you stream a lot, or you have a little one who needs entertainment on road trips, Experience More is the plan to get.

What does high-speed data mean on a phone plan?
High-speed data (also known as premium data) runs at your network's full 4G or 5G speeds before your carrier slows you down. Many unlimited plans cut your speeds after a certain amount of data, while plans with unlimited premium data don't.
What's the difference between premium data and deprioritized data?
Premium data gets priority on the network, so your speeds stay fast even when lots of people are connected. Deprioritized data can slow down when the network is congested because other customers (with premium data) get first priority.
Do prepaid plans have unlimited high-speed data?
Yes, some prepaid plans have unlimited high-speed data. US Mobile Unlimited Premium and Visible+ Pro both include unlimited premium data for under $50/month.
Which carrier has the fastest data?
It depends on where you are. In our tests, Verizon's Ultra Wideband network hit the highest speeds at over 800Mbps, but only in select areas, while AT&T and T-Mobile posted peaks of 236Mbps and about 175Mbps.
Which network has the fastest 5G?
Verizon's Ultra Wideband 5G delivers the fastest speeds where it's available, while T-Mobile has the most 5G availability across the nation. See how all three compare in our 5G speed test, or find out what 6G could mean for the future of mobile speeds.
