1. Visible+: Unlimited 5G, unlimited hotspot, and my personal favorite

Visible's mid-tier Visible+ plan gives you unlimited everything without paying premium carrier prices. I've had Visible for over two years now, and I'm still impressed with the service. I get great coverage where I live; I haven't run into any major slowdowns (even on Visible's cheapest base plan), and I've never had a call drop on me. I can even video call on the highway during my commute without lag.

The $35/month Visible+ includes unlimited premium data on Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband network, unlimited talk and text, and unlimited hotspot (at 10Mbps speeds). You'll never have to worry about slow service because, while testing Verizon's fastest network, we clocked over 800Mbps. That's insanely fast for connection speeds. Unlimited hotspot is the feature I use the most. I work from parks and beaches a lot, and I've never had to think twice about running out.
Save $5/month with Visible's Inner Circle
You can save an extra $5/month with Visible when you set up an Inner Circle. It's like Visible's version of a family plan, but you don't actually have to be blood relatives. You can invite your friends, roommates, and relatives to participate, and everyone gets the discount. That means you can pay as little as $30/month for a plan that includes everything.
With Visible+, you also get HD streaming up to 1080p (a feature most budget plans skip), along with unlimited talk, text, and data while roaming in Mexico and Canada. Speeds aren't premium while roaming, but it's saved me more than once when my return flight plans changed while I was still on vacation. You get one Global Pass per month for international data too, so you don't need to worry about downloading an eSIM before a trip.
Not only is the Visible+ plan great for reliable coverage whether you're at work or at home, but it offers family plan flexibility that lets you choose who's included.

If your coverage is hit or miss depending on where you are, US Mobile offers service on all three major networks to keep you connected. US Mobile's Unlimited Premium plan costs $44/month and includes unique features to make sure you have the best cell service possible.

When you sign up, you can choose the network with the strongest coverage in your area. US Mobile offers coverage on AT&T's network (Dark Star), T-Mobile's network (Light Speed), and Verizon's network (Warp Speed). If you want the truly unlimited version of this plan, you'll need the Dark Star network. Dark Star Unlimited Premium includes unlimited premium data, 100GB of high-speed hotspot, 10GB of domestic roaming, and unlimited talk, text, and Wi-Fi calling. In addition to these perks, you can call and text over 200 destinations, all included in your base plan.
At $44/month, it isn't the cheapest plan available, but the coverage flexibility is hard to find anywhere else at this price. If patchy service has been your biggest frustration with prepaid plans, US Mobile Unlimited Premium is worth the switch.

3. Cricket Wireless Supreme Unlimited: Free entertainment perks you'll love

Cricket Wireless' most premium Supreme Unlimited plan delivers seriously solid coverage and top perks bundled in for free. At $55/month (with the AutoPay discount), it's a pricier budget option, but that's because it includes top perks you don't have to pay extra for.
Cricket is a top choice to switch to; the perks alone are worth it.
On top of unlimited premium 5G data on AT&T's network, you also get unlimited talk, text, and 50GB of hotspot data, which is more than I've ever managed to burn through in a single month while working remotely full-time. Supreme Unlimited includes a free HBO Max Basic with Ads subscription too, so you can catch up on shows and sports without paying for a separate account. It even includes 150GB of free cloud storage to back up your photos instead of deleting them to free up space.
Supreme Unlimited works in Mexico and Canada just like it does at home, with talk, text, and data you can use across the border. Feel free to text to more than 200 destinations to keep in touch with international friends.

4. Boost Mobile Unlimited+: A straightforward budget plan for average users

Boost Mobile's Unlimited+ is a solid pick for anyone who just wants unlimited talk, text, data, and hotspot without paying for extras. At $50/month (with AutoPay), you get 40GB of premium 5G data to keep you connected all month long. Once you reach that limit, your speeds slow down but your data doesn't cut off entirely.
Boost Mobile gives you premium data and hotspot at an affordable price.
Unlimited+ includes unlimited hotspot usage, but note that it isn't a separate allowance. Your hotspot usage pulls from your premium data total, which may burn through your premium data faster than you expect. The good news is that 40GB is more than plenty for the average mobile user, and you probably won't hit that limit anyway. Boost also includes free calling to 100 different destinations.
If you want a plan that keeps things simple without skimping on unlimited data and hotspot, Boost Mobile's Unlimited+ is ideal.

5. Mint Mobile Unlimited: A cheap T-Mobile plan if you're willing to commit
- $30/mo to $40/mo, depending on how many months you prepay
- Runs on T-Mobile's network
Mint Mobile is a smaller carrier that provides service on T-Mobile's network, but it charges a fraction of the price. The Unlimited plan gives you 50GB of premium 5G data, plus an extra 20GB dedicated to hotspot data, so you don't accidentally drain your monthly total in your first week.
Almost the entire WhistleOut team is on Mint Mobile.
Mint also includes free calling to Mexico, Canada, and the UK, which is a nice bonus if you keep in touch with anyone in those countries. The catch is that Mint sells service in multi-month packs of 3, 6, or 12 months rather than billing you monthly. The longer you commit, the cheaper it gets. Three months of Unlimited runs you $40/month, while a full year brings it down to $30/month. However, you're paying that entire amount upfront.
Streaming is capped at standard definition on this plan, so don't expect sharp picture quality if you watch a lot of video on your phone. But before you commit, test out Mint Mobile's service with a free trial.
Otherwise, if you're on T-Mobile's network and are comfortable paying upfront for a better rate, Mint's Unlimited plan is worth the commitment.
