Sporcle Party is a trivia app with two ways to play. You can set up a private host invite you can text to your friends and have everyone download the app and join, or you can join a public game with strangers using a generated code.

Be careful with the public option. Scrolling through the open games going on at any given moment looks a lot more like a dating app than a trivia app. Plus, you have to enter your email and sign in just to join one.
I wasn't interested in playing a trivia round where the game description doubled as a dating profile. Stick to a private host invite and a group of friends you already know.

If you do have friends over and want to play, there are tons of pre-programmed packs to choose from. Stick to those instead of the user-submitted ones, since there's no guarantee what's in them and there could be some risqué information.
